Nutrition Care

Our dietitian is here to assist you in assessment, planning and prescribing you the treatment of any disease associated with poor nutrition, especially at the time of diagnosis. We adhere to the theory that treating diseases as a whole is the best way to ensure a speedy recovery and avoid further issues. The following diagnoses necessitate dietary management:  Overweight/Obesity  Diabetes Mellitus  The Risk of Hypertension and Other Cardiovascular Diseases  Problems with digestion and the intestines

Special Research Projects

This hospital conducts various research projects to improve the health condition of the mother and child and also to contribute effectively in the health services of the country. Few of the research projects and activities are as under:

Blood Bank

At AWCH many of our patients require transfusions, and we have a Blood Bank Laboratory to provide patients with the safest possible blood. All donations received in the blood bank are voluntary non-remunerated. All necessary safety measures are taken for both the donors and recipients including performing the mandatory screening tests for infectious diseases. This blood bank has one transfusion medicine specialist and required number of supporting staffs.

Committed to deliver high quality and safe blood products, our blood banking and transfusion services are available round the clock seven days a week.

Pharmacy

The Pharmacy Department of AWCH provides a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical services to all patients. Its objective is to provide patient-focused pharmaceutical care in order to achieve definite outcomes that improve patients’ quality of life.

Our pharmacists are accessible round the clock to help promote health and wellness and reduce the risk of illness in our patients by making sure that their medications are used properly.

Pharmacists at AWCH double-check medication orders for accuracy and completeness, as well as for safety, therapeutic indication, drug therapy selection, and monitoring of therapeutic outcomes.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/High Dependency Unit (HDU)

Our intensive care unit (ICU) provides medical attention to adult patients who are in a serious condition, need assistance for breathing, or require continuous surveillance and care. We strive to give excellent levels of treatment to our patients, such as adhering to the most effective practices that are used globally.
